The
History of el mail boxo!
Founded
in the winter of 1997, we were originally a 3 piece band under the
name "The Wheelie Buddies". The original members were
Brian Duenow on guitar, P.J. Wentzien on bass and Robert Calvert
on drums. In the summer of 1998 we added Paul Schoenig on bass and
moved PJ back to what he was more comfortable with, the guitar.
In January 1999 we added Chet Woods, for percussion duty moving
Robert over to the keyboards. Three months later we recorded an
ep entitled "i think that you think too much", it was
obvious that we were a relatively new band together - the recording
wasn't all that good. We played around the St Louis area for about
2 years with that line up, until Robert decided to move to Chicago.
When he left,(Fall '00) we changed our name to "El Mail Boxo".
We've been playing as a four piece ever since. On 6/8/02 we released
our first cd as El Mail Boxo, "Either Sleet or Snow".
